Shaun & Helen would like to thank everyone who came to our (now) annual York Races Day. Everyone had some funny stories to tell and had a great day out. It was a fantastic turnout and we would like to apologize if we left anyone behind at the race course (only kidding….. I think). We hope to see you all soon and get your name down for next years trip when we hope to take 3 coaches!!!!! If anybody has any photographs please get them to us and we will post them the website. Thanks again for making it a wonderful day.
New Queen of The Hungry Fox Poker tables?
Melaine Ashworth has become only the second person to win the hungry fox poker league for a second time. Mel got her name on the coveted trophy with another consistent season and becomes the first player to win the league in consecutive seasons.
Going into the last week of the season anyone of three players couldmathematically win the league, but with Mark Burnley holding over a 1000 point lead (and going for a third title) the others had little hope. Then the unthinkable happened and Mark Burnley pushed all-in early in the tournament with A-Q and got two callers!!! He wasn’t in bad shape as his opponents turned over J-j and Q-7 suited. Disaster struck though as a 7 on the flop and Q on the turn (which brought a cheer from Mark) were no help and he crashed early. That left Melaine needing
to win the tournament to crowned champion which she duly did with some outrageous luck. Heads up with “Toptrotter” she got it all-in 8-2!!! On a 7-9-3 board, a turn 5 gave her a straight draw and miracle 6 on the river gave her the chip lead. She went on to claim first place and secure her second title. Congratulations Mel.
More congratulations must go to Mel’s husband Jon and Dave Green who went to the regional finals in Newcastle and qualified for the National finals later in the year and now have a great chance of winning a trip to Las Vegas. Well done guys!!!!!!

The summer holidays are here and the children are restless. Bring them down to us after you finish your hard day’s work. Our new offer runs Monday to Friday between 5pm and 7pm. For every main course you order you receive a child’s meal for free providing the child is present and is under 12 years old
New Menu
NEW MENU
After months of hard thought and recipe experimentation by head chef Tony, we have finally created our new menu. There is a mixture of new and old dishes, some classic British favorites and exciting recipes from around the globe. We have put a larger focus on some healthier dishes and our vegetarian options have also greatly improved, so hopefully, everyone in your party has been catered for. We are really delighted with the new menu and hope you are too. If you plan on coming down to try it out please think about ringing and booking your table in advance.
