Mel Ashworth has become the new poker Hungry Fox poker champion. Melanie has beaten 40 other players to become the first female player to have her name carved onto the prestigious trophy. Going into the final week anyone of 4 players could become champion with long time leader Tony “mad chef” Jefffries holding a slight lead over Mel, her husband Jon “the angry drunken dwarf” and 2 time champ Mark “the Beal deal” Burnley, but it was Mel who folded her way to the championship with a 1st place finish in the final week. The top 5 will now move onto Newcastle were they will play for big cash prizes and the chance of a holiday to Las Vegas. The new season starts at The Fox, Monday 19th April 7.45pm with a £7 buy-in.
